Wagaya no Oinari-sama #02 — Foxgod vs The VCR

April 13th, 2008

Showdown of the century.

Impressions:

I actually don’t really have a ton to say. This episode was loads and loads better than the first, but still a bit short of actually being good. It was nice that there was actual action during the long action scene, but it wasn’t particularly well animated and they spent quite a long time standing around and chatting in the middle of it. I also really don’t like male Tenko’s laugh. It reminds me of Muttley. "Kikikikiki" just doesn’t sound right when you’re a haughty, arrogant fox god. I did get a chuckle out of the TV/VCR antics, but that’s pretty much where about 100% of the comedy and my general amusement with this series seems to lie… in Tenko and Kou learning to adjust to life in the big city. I guess I’ll give it one more and see what Kou’s panicked washing machine dance and Tenko’s lightning ball is all about, but honestly, those two are really the only redeeming factors in the show for me. I think Totali’s throwing himself into this one for the long run though, so you can always poke at him for coverage if next week’s is lame and I just ignore it. *shrug*

  • […] was my favourite LOL moment. Kuu’s fascination with the TV and the VCR were great as was the plot to blow up the shrine in order to increase the convenience store […]
