HEROMAN #03 — Super Saiyarobot
April 15th, 2010

You’re killing me here.
Impressions:
Okay, I’m throwing in the towel here. This is just too much. The joke buddy cops was withstandable, Flash Thompson suddenly screaming that he’d never accept Joey as a hero was bad, Joey giving a speech about protecting Heroman (come again?) was worse, Heroman going super sayajin was horrible, the joke about his grandma being totally ignorant of the end of the world and just sitting there knitting was godawful, and the fact that next week’s fight is against a giant CG ball is beyond words that I know, and let me tell you, I know a lot of words. Like Erinaceous. And Susurrus.
The bad writing seems to just be getting worse, the action was outdone by Koihime, and the Skrugg can’t even decide whether they’re going to destroy Earth or enslave it. Last week, everybody was about grabbing up a couple random kids and then detonating the planet. This week they’re all about landing on it and taking it over. Next week, apparently they play pinball with a city. I’ve never been a fan of Bones’ writing in general, but this is just haphazardly awful. At least pick something and stick to it.
At any rate, I’m washing my hands of this. I gave it more than a fair shot and it has abused my faith in it. And now I have to go back to a world where Spectacular Spiderman is being replaced by Ultimate Spiderman and Friends. Damn you, Stan Lee. Damn you.
