Impressions:

A very awesome episode from start to finish with some nice moments for Yoshii, a rare display of the glimmerings of what could pass for intelligence, parodies all over the place, and even a rather interesting new development at the end. Pretty much the entire male cast was spot on this week while the females were barely present at all. Tsuchiya’s disappointment with the realities of a female locker room (complete with limp camera) followed by the glimpses he was looking for was priceless, as was the fight over Himeji’s lunch, ending with the ‘winner’ cowering in fear in the corner, everybody else having killed each other.

Hideyoshi was his normal gender questionable self, showing up in a china dress at the very end. I did rather enjoy his girly attack sequence for using Yoshii’s Shining Answer. It was far better than Striker Sigma 5 or Problem Breakaaaaaah! I will say that the pseudo-montage at the end could have been a little better, or at least mixed things up a little more. I liked seeing Tsuchiya hiding in random things, but after the sixth repetition of Yoshii finding something weird, it was getting a bit predictible. Giving Yoshii the ability to start summon battles himself is a very interesting little development though… or would be if they got back to focusing on the battles a little more. You don’t see me complaining about it though.

FYI, Himari’s not up on the usual suspects yet (it’s usually up around 2 hours before this), and I have to go out and run a ton of errands in a little bit, so it may be a little while before I get to it.

Brief Summary:

On the way to school, Hazuki’s mascot strap gets run over, but as it turns out, the school is having a scavenger hunt and a full set of those charms is one of the prizes. Everybody is split into teams and has to divine the three dimensional coordinates of the hidden items through tests. Yoshii’s got a full set of SUPER PENCIL DICE for the occasion, except that the first one divines a location to be about 50 feet in the middle of the air. Elsewhere, the smart team of class F determines something’s hidden in the girl’s locker room. Tsuchiya comes to the hard reality that it’s not as awesome as he thought, until he gets the glimpses of all the things in their lockers. The idiots end up in a fight to the death over who has to eat Himeji’s food.

The other people have their own issues. Miyuki has her stalker, Kubo is stymied by Yoshii’s shoe locker, etc. Yuuji manages to figure out a set of coordinates, but they’re for a couple’s trip to the amusement park. Yuuji wants nothing to do with it, while Yoshii launches into a speil about confessing your love to the most beautiful girl around, Hideyoshi. Yoshii then comes up with the idea of just searching everywhere, so the team rushes off… and finds nothing useful. They end up back on the roof where they stumble over one of the prizes, but Class A’s team is there to take it from them. Before they can, school ends.

Yoshii’s team examines their winnings. Aside from the charm straps, they also have a set of bracelets that lets them create their own summoning field. Yuuji’s and Hideyoshi’s explode immediately, leaving just the idiot’s. Yoshii gives the straps to Hazuki and everybody’s happy again.
