A Certain Scientific Railgun #13 — Real Evil Holographic Abraham Lincoln

December 25th, 2009

Futurama and TNG have spoiled holodeck jokes for me.

Stealing away a quick chance to post while my family engages in its yearly viewing of Peewee’s Christmas Special. I wish I was kidding.

Impressions:

Not that anybody was expecting this to be anything but a pure fanservice episode, but at least it was marginally more amusing than usual. The whole holodeck routine was pretty lame, but I did enjoy the 2001 shout out, complete with Kuroko being the inspired ape. I did expect a little more humor from Kuroko than we actually got. I’m amazed that she would share Mikoto with all the others so easily. I’m also immensely sad that there wasn’t a holographic evil Lincoln… or maybe a Moriarty. Those were great TNG episodes.

There’s not too much more to say than that. I expected a vapid, brainless episode full of minor T&A an that’s exactly what I got.

Off next week for New Year’s. Seeya in two.
