Battler x Hatrack ending.

Impressions:

Ah, here we are. Back to the violence and in particularly gory fashion given the previous censoring, even if the chronology was a little… inane at parts. Nothing quite like watching Rosa killed, then hop around in time to see her arm blown off and killed, then killed again, and again… and again. I’m also not entirely sure why they bothered to introduce a new Siesta, as well as Gaap and then have both of them just stand around after delivering a line or two. Or what kind of insane architect would run a phoneline to a prison cell in the first place. All these questions pale to the main one though… Why was Battler wrapping himself around that hatrack? Don’t get me wrong, it does look like a rather attractive hatrack, but there are womenfolk who need comforting. Go wrap yourself around them. Hell, even George is probably softer than it.

This is where Deen’s previous… shall we say… enthusiasm with Maria’s crazy faces comes back to bite them in the ass. I suppose she should be looking completely insane at this point, but given that she’s been making these same faces from episode one about everything from candy to the tooth fairy, she doesn’t seem particularly crazy, just her usual admittedly unhinged self. I guess she did flip out at Battler when he teased her a little bit, which was maybe a tad more crazy than normal, but… eh… when the baseline is somewhere between Paris Hilton and Son of Sam, it’s hard to distinguish degrees. I’d be happy if Battler never "uuu"ed again though.

The almost total lack of Ange this week also begs wondering why they spent so much time on her for the past three weeks, but Deen’s haphazard direction is nothing new. This one should at least play out a bit more interestingly though since unlike the previous three, there really isn’t too much mystery surrounding the First Twilight, at least so far as Beatrice’s presentation of it is concerned.
