When the Seagulls Cry #06 — Ride The Furniture

Jess, why are you even asking its permission?
Impressions:
Ugh. I had hoped they’d speed through this part a lot more than they did. I guess at least they did a relatively thorough job covering one of the most painfully obvious relationship parallels that this story has to offer between Kanon and Jessica, and George and Shannon. Shannon wants to be more than just the Ushiromiya’s furniture and Kanon’s fatalistic about it, and even tries to dissuade Jessica from jumping his bones because he’s beneath her… only literally in Jessica’s mind. Beatrice pretty much just hovers around… occasionally literally… and tells the *nons that she can give them what they wants with magic. Feh. There’s been eviler.
Jessica probably poses the most interesting idea of the whole episode, and that’s the fabrication of an alternate personality, but considering that at least one of the people on the island is pretending to not be killing all the others, I’d think that goes without saying. Of course, there’s always the theory that Kanon takes it to heart and is posing as a certain giant chested maid by the time of the murders… which would also explain why he turned down Jessica. All the servants want to get their hands on George’s ottoman and this whole thing is just a giant conspiracy to get have their tawdry way with George.
Now that would be evil.
Well, so is that Touhou cosplay band that Jessica plays in. But no China? That’s just plain rude.
