It always ends in wet girls, doesn't it?

I'm very out of town next weekend, so expect the last episode to be up a bit late. I do plan on posting the next season preview before I go though. There is… so much shoujo next season. And the cheat power ain't letting up either.

Impressions:

The right ideas were there, focusing on the dude and letting him have his character growth moment, though the execution was rushed as hell, especially for his butler dude. Also, everyone was kind of being huge asses to him for absolutely no reason when he was trying to help. It's at least closer to where I would've liked the show to have been some eight episodes ago and where the better flavors of the old fightin' high school magic teen LNs would be instead of taking tests nonstop. Even some random little bits of using magic in more creative ways. Which somehow didn't need three paragraphs to explain. 

In any case, far too much time was spent pointlessly explaining things that needed no explanation, while also overlooking blindingly obvious things. They use evil magic-draining voodoo. Let's go to the spring that gives infinite magic, not because this will help us against that in any way, or level the playing field through equalizing raw power, but because I have a secret plan that I can't tell you about. Also, I need another paragraph to explain how it's a big secret and I'll explain later. This is after already having internally summarized it as light recap not thirty seconds before, giving lie to it being too long to explain. A show with an actual budget would've spent far less time monologuing and thrown more fireballs.
