Dramatic Teenagers: Drama Version #01 — “I English!”
April 2nd, 2026
Of course you do.
AKA Ramparts of Ice. I've decided to do a bit today in order to survive the onslaught.
Impressions:
Welcome to the day of Dramatic Teenagers, where every show is going to be about teenagers so far up their own asses that they can brush their teeth from the inside. This first one is every shoujo ever. She was supposedly bullied… long ago. Because she looks or acts a little different. But now she's friends with the most popular girl in class, all the popular boys keep bumping into her and want to be her friends, and everybody is charmed by her innate good nature despite how awwwwwwkward she feels. Which you can tell by all the faces she makes.
It's unconvincing at best, and insincerely manipulative at worst. I guess good to actually show instead of just tell, but the bullying is ridiculously over the top to start with, and it's also the complete opposite of the situation she's currently in. And it's not even like her past trauma is sabotaging her or she's struggling to overcome her insecurities. She already has. She's not even trying. She's the center of attention of the entire goddamned school and beloved by all, because she's the Maryest of Mary Sues. There's not even a mean girl for the popular boys to put in her place when she tries to pick on her. She just makes a face and basks in the attention. Please laugh. Or feel sad when a hastily contrived flashback pops up with even further escalated bullying well past the previous absurd levels. Whichever.
