Can I Make One Final Plea #06 — Sleepover
October 31st, 2025
…Certainly standing up for the little guy here.
Impressions:
I'm pretty close to throwing in the towel here. The antagonist girl with murder on her mind is the only thing I'm interested in here with it faceplanting straight into awful Mary Sue territory. She rolls into town, the prince gets overly handsy with her, the local lunatic villain screams at her, so she uses her cheat powers to punch them into the sky, and everybody claps. Then it's on to meet another pretty dude to get overly handsy with her, another girl to get overly handsy with her, but emotionally instead of jokesy. You've done this formula already, and more importantly where's the actual drama? The conflict? The struggle? Anything that makes a story interesting?
I'm happy to watch her punch corrupt nobility, except we're not actually doing that, are we? We're doing Looney Tunes level comical punishments of ridiculous cariacatures while being the corrupt nobility, under the pretense that as long as there's worse people, our own excesses are totally fine. No, you are also the 1% abusing your position and power that needs to be punched.
