HOT HOT BARELY LEGAL NURSES XXX

Impressions:

Takano’s terrible past. Er… terrible, as in “sucks for her.” It was told pretty well, though some of the chronological bouncing around was kind of silly and confusing. Nobody gets a happy life in Hinamizawa! Nobody!

That said, it really did seem a little excessive. She works just fine as “crazy woman suffering from a disease that makes you want to kill people,” and throwing in that she was mentally unbalanced well before she went even more insane kind of detracts a little bit from… well… her having the disease. Only one impetus is needed here for maximum insanity, having multiple just muddles it. That’s a small aside though, as the episode was still enjoyable and provides some good background on how everything started.

The OP also changed again slightly this week to include Hanyuu in a school uniform running over to the rest of the Hinamizawa kids as they walk to school at the end. A few other shots were also changed to show Takano as more clearly evil and Hanyuu as… whatever the hell this is supposed to mean. I tried to rip it, but my usual tools are being cranky and imploding. Sorry.

During a hot summer day, young Miyo sits in a library with an old man going through his books. He tells her that he’s doing research into diseases. She asks why, and he tells her that it’s really sad for people to be forgotten when they die. They talk a little more, but it’s nothing particularly interesting.

During a storm at night, Miyo and the other kids are trying to open a lock, but they don’t have the key so are trying to pick it. A patrol comes by and the kids get increasingly agitated as a man comes nearer.

In town, a busdriver has a heart attack causing a huge traffic accident killing Miyo’s mother and her father is dying as well. He tells her to go to Dr. Takano for help before coughing up blood all over her and being rushed away as he dies.

Miyo meets with a counselor who wants to know who Dr Takano is. She tells him that he’s her father’s teacher, but he asks if she doesn’t have any other relatives. She says no, so he brings her to an orphanage. As he leaves her there, the warden scowls at her darkly.

The warden is a very cruel man who beats the children severely for the slightest mistake.

At night, the girl orphans want to run away, but they need the key to the gate. One of them says that she thinks she can get it, but she knows that if she’s caught, they’ll be killed. She asks the others if they really want to stay like this, and they decide to try to escape.

Back to the stormy night and the escape… they finally open the door, but not before being spotted. The warden yells for the others as they crawl under a fence and off the grounds. The kids then split up.

Miyo is being chased by the guards and reaches a cliff. She tries to climb up it, but falls and is caught.

The warden slams her head into the ground over and over, but Miyo manages to bite his thumb off in the struggle. He falls back, but then gets up and approaches her as she screams.

Takano (adult form) receives a briefcase of money for her to use in her work. The two reminisce briefly abotu Dr Takano (the former) and her carrying on his work.

She later meets with other men. Her report to them is that some kind of weapon is being developed. They grill her on the disease and her own capabilities, but it’s all pretty light and complimentary. They eventually give her the promotion that she’d need to head up the investigation.

Takano is introduced to her partner for her work, Dr Irie. Irie is a lot more nervous than his ‘present’ self though he’s gung-ho to find a cure for the illness. The two bound over the idea of doing good and then shake on it.

Later, Takano is introduced to their personal bodyguards. Given the volatility of the disease and the situation, they’re going to be at her personal command for however she sees fit.

Young Miyo staggers on through the rain. She’s injured, but apparently no longer being chased. She falls and thinks back to eating dinner with her parents. Her flashback starts to break as she hears the voices of the guards approacing her.

She jolts awake and continues running. She wonders to herself what she did to God to deserve so much unhappiness.

She cries out that if she’s supposed to die, then God should kill her know. She doesn’t want this kind of life. Lightning strikes and her world turns white.

After the ED plays, adult Takano jolts awake from a bad dream. A soldier tells her that it’s time. She gets up and looks at the village from her truck. She says that soon, Dr Takano’s wish will come true (well, ‘grandfather’) and laughs like a maniac.
