Please give my ears a rest.

Impressions:

It's probably not a good sign when it's five minutes into the episode, three and a half if you cut out the opening, and you've already played the same scene twice, the second time retconning it so that instead of a flat reaction, it's a screaming overreaction. What's the deal here? Wanted to try both one after the other to see which one was better? Seemingly, they already decided that it was the latter, because the entire rest of the episode was consumed by the girl throwing a nonstop ear piercing tantrum. Featuring such hilarious jokes as "NOBODY CAN BEAT A LEVEL 99 HERO!" and "HE IS OVEREXPLAINING A STUPID THING."

As usual for a Satelight licensed show too, they definitely did not put the A team on this at all. It's pretty awfully made, except in the field of girls exploding in fire while screaming, where it's all the way up to merely bad. It does turn a bit right towards the end to outright state, expository presentation and all, that there's serious shenanigans going on in the human world and with the titular hero, which I am aware that the manga gets all convoluted and extra RPG-y, though secret eldritch horrors manipulating the world is as old as Ultima as far as RPGs go, but that doesn't change that the vast majority of the episode is childish screaming, paining my ears severely.
