The Heavenly Delusion #05 — Behold the Tenoroon

Of all the possible instruments to play, why that?

Impressions:

Hopefully not entering the midseason slump, though this episode did seem pretty pointless. Especially the middle bit where he came back to an empty room and instantly had a panic attack, only for Maru to be in literally the next room over, jerking off. So they 'emotionally' hugged, and decided that was time for a boner joke. Doesn't exactly yell an episode full of purpose. The most that can probably be said is that kid-Maru sure looks a hell of a lot like a vault kid, though maybe that's just lazy artists. It's hard to tell with anime sometimes.

Similarly, the vault kids didn't have much going on. The sick one died and… uh… they were sad about it? But even that didn't last as they decided it would be a good segue into making jokes about traumatizing old eugenics ladies by racing around their wheelchairs. Maybe that was the whole weird theme of the episode; completely out of place jokes instead of moving the story anywhere. Levity is one thing, but like fanservice, it's a spice to a story or characters. A couple bad jokes are nowhere near enough to carry an entire episode.
