…Why the MC Hammer pants again?

Impressions:

Ye lords, I wish this show was not so mediocre or simply all over the place. Especially the duo that's just constantly doing schtick. If it was focused on them, you could at least make the case that this was a comedy, but the main duo are so serious and angsty that it hurts, even while they're also 'sneaking' around in brightly colored parachute pants. And then we have the 'story' that it spends the first five minutes of the episode going over, about how aliens tried to invade, but random monsters showed up to chase them off, so now humanity hunts monsters.

It's really, really struggling to split the difference between serious and absurd, which is just making me feel awkward and a little embarrassed for it. I'm pretty certain that it's trying to be ridiculous, but it's not over the top enough, especially considering the two hardboiled angsty guys. K and Zed worked in Men In Black by doing absurd things as if they were normal. Shaking down pugs, shooting people's heads off out of annoyance, handing out comically tiny guns that blow up city blocks. Dressing funny is about 98% of what these two did that could be called even unusual.
