What a mix on the formula.

Onipan!'s turned out to be a somewhat odd duck. It's five 4 minute shorts aired each weekday plus a 'full episode' compilation. Other shows have done this in the past (eg Azumanga), but few things recently. That's not really great for blogging, and the first episode can basically be summed up as "Onis are scary. Oh wait, they got my doll for me. Maybe not. The end." Not that you can do a whole lot in the span of a commercial break either, but… I don't know. I don't feel compelled to keep up with something with that kind of broadcast schedule. 

Quasi-Impressions:

This episode confirms that the format of the show is going to be Filler-Filler-Filler-Filler-Filler-Oh No, Random Woman Collapsed-Sing-Everything Totally Fine. After ten minutes of pure, abject, unabashed filler, the episode eventually got around to introducing the bitchy rival. She's gonna beat you and is serious! That's why she makes angry serious faces instead of stupid serious faces. And I am already exhausted of the entire affair. So much for Mondays this season.
