A fade to black is not animating.

Impressions:

I gave this another look, largely because Sundays are barren, and while it's maybe slightly better than the first episode in some ways, it was still a painfully slow paced episode that didn't do much to win me over. The already poor animation totally collapsed despite having multiple opportunities to at least do something with fighting random giant cave rats or whatever, but even that went the fade-to-black route. Hell, they evaporated into CGI bits. The misogynist rantings were also a bit subdued from the first episode and with some trace of the hypocrisy, though still there. And boy howdy, does the show waste no time in having all the blondes want to dive straight into the dude's pants.

What was better was that it introduced some minor semblence of a plot with some other rando girl usurping the expected protagonist's role. Obviously, that pushes the 'actual' protagonist and all her 'good' girl friends into the show protagonist's harem, as the OP and ED make abundantly clear, but it is the barest minimum of some kind of story and intrigue. Is it that interesting though? That's something the episode didn't make a case for. I would assume so, but with the horrible writing of these kinds of things, who knows? It's something where a knife to the skull of one of the supposedly important boy harem or rivals to drive home that things are sinisterly different wouldn't have gone amiss.
