Slow Loop #01 — Suddenly Boobs

Was she really randomly carrying around a cutting board, dinner set, and kitchen knives?

Impressions:

This would be Generic Hobby Show Type B, where the manic pixie girl is the one being introduced to the hobby so she can shriek about the Wikipedia articles being quoted at length. It's harmless enough, but I'm two sentences in and already feel like I'm struggling to say much of anything about it. It lacks the joy, excitement, and indulgence for the subject matter of something like GA Art Design Class. The characters are both the same cariacatures as these things always have. There's no story driving things, character development, dramatic elements, or anything along those lines, nor is there any focus on comedy besides a character occasionally making a silly face.

There's nothing wrong with everybody immediately being friends and getting along, but there's not much room for any kind of development, success, triumph, or cause for celebration when there is just flat out nothing going on. I think that it realizes that too, because it randomly tosses out tidbits like "My dad is dead," or "Actually, she had unidentified chronic anime disease for years that kept her permanently hospitalized which is now in total remission," but it's always spat out without any relation to anything and then someone usually makes a stupid face two seconds later. It's inoffensively sedative, I guess, which is not what I'm looking for in a show.
