The Girl Who Sees #01 — Jumpscare Montage

October 3rd, 2021

Why did it take so long to get there, and yet do so little?

Impressions:

Ah, a show where nobody is on the same page. Whoever did the OP thought it was a comedy. The artists are mainly focused on the T&A. The director only turned in about five minutes of half-assed jump scares. And the writer didn't show up at all. As of fifteen minutes into the episode, you'd be forgiven if you had no idea whatsoever what anything was supposed to be. The only focus to that point had been on the big boobed friend's boobs, and camera angles focused on the girl's butt with her panty lines visible but angled so that you can just barely not see her panties.

At sixteen minutes though, the montage of jump scares start. How often can you go to the well of suddenly cutting to a grotesque zombie moaning "Can you see me?" This show's answer appears to be at least five minutes worth of that. And then the episode unceremoniously ends, having forgotten to do anything with the episode besides the oh so creative setup of "teenager can see ghosts." Cause that's a stone that hasn't been squeezed dry at all. I don't think some half-assed fanservice or jumpscares are going to be the thing that livens it up, especially if you're forgetting to bring not just any kind of compelling script or character stories, but any script whatsoever.
