Boy, this kind of humor sure has aged.

I'll do ID:Invaded in the evening. I need to run some errands and the like. 

Impressions:

I always worry when I watch shows like this that the things I have fond memories of like Slayers are being seen through rose-colored glasses and always were as obnoxious as this is. And this is quite obnoxious. While it starts and ends with pretending that it's a dramatic magical serious dragons and wizards show, and is even actually animated for weird five second bursts like it has a budget during some of it, the middle 18 or so minutes is nothing but incredibly bad comedy. Stupid, petty idiots childishly yelling at each other and/or making idiotic non-sequiturs… which aren't even the gag. The gag is yelling "Hey! That was a non-sequitur!"

It also doesn't help that the episode was exceptionally structureless. It was clearly intending to introduce the main cast, but it did so without any real purpose or flow to the story, so you could have cut out any given scene and the audience probably wouldn't have noticed. Relentlessly obnoxious characters and a total lack of direction in the narrative are a rough mountain to climb, especially with Deen phoning it in on the production outside the occasional 5 second bursts which will no doubt be completely gone by next week, likely leaving just the Three Stooges doing bad schtick.
