The Magic of Stella #01 — Radioactive Fallout
October 3rd, 2016
The neon glow of everything hurts my eyes.
Impressions:
Sometimes I play the game of "How many minutes in will it be before this comedy show has its first joke/this action show has its first action." To give a hint, this had a two minute montage of getting ready/going to school, and upon arrival, she smiled from ear to ear because… school! To actually answer the question, 6.5 minutes. It was a double take. Making faces and announcing the current situation is about all the humor there is here. It's much more of a "girls smiling while nuclear explosions occur just off-screen" show. There's actually a pretty good argument that it's meant to be horror. The budget is so weak that background characters are permanently frozen in macabre death masks while everyone else walks past, completely ignoring them in mid-conversation, just grisly trapped in their final moment before the volcano hit.
So basically, it's a zero effort "girls in a club" show. The premise of being a doujin game-maker club exists for nothing but to give a subject for the Wikipedia articles it'll use to pad out the time, and it doesn't even really do that.

One day a cute girls doing cute things show will remember to be high-energy from start to finish.
