And misunderstandings.

Re:Zero is delayed again due to the French Open. At least half an hour, up to four hours. Last week it was two hours. I've got some errands to run for about an hour during that timeframe, so I may be a little delayed getting to it, relatively speaking. Not that I expect anything to happen after a whole month of pure padding. Hundred will be covered 'early' tomorrow due to Memorial Day sleeping in and not having to work.

Impressions:

At least the mini-arc from the last two weeks did have some kind of point, start, end, and things going on, even if it took about twice as long as it should have and dragged characters around it didn't need to. This episode was just spinning its wheels; introducing some really feeble attempts to create drama… but with no real start or end to it, so if anything, it makes me worry that the crap it introduced here is going to be sticking around for a while, stinking up the joint like old cheese. It was bookended by Messy-face having his little virus attacks, so I guess if pressed, you could sort of say that it was about that, but I've just summarized the entirety of what was going on there. That was used as a particularly flimsy excuse for misunderstandings about Boy Ballerina and No Fun Allowed dating, but again, that's the sum and total of where that went too. Freyja spent the entire episode looking on from a distance and wringing her hands.

Freyja's handwringing is perhaps emblematic of the problems with this episode. The rest of it was mostly random exposition, but completely unconnected with anything. Nothing important or interesting to note even from the start, unless you count "All according to plan" to be those things, and especially of the variety "X has some vague past with Y"… but they will not be directly interacting this episode. The closest it got was the quasi-dog fight against one guy in particular, and one girl said his name like, three times, but even that was more close-ups of faces and grunting than anything else. Before the idol concert/insert song portion kicked in, obviously. Everybody else was also nice enough to not steal any focus from them too, conveniently enough.
