God’s Blessings #04 — Headless Horse
February 3rd, 2016
Are we just not going to address that? Okay, then.
Impressions:
I'm left at a loss of what the first half of the episode was for, especially the montage of practicing magic, although I suspect that the answer is "we needed to fill up 10 minutes." You used a montage right in the first episode, guys. Don't backslide like this. Then again, the whole episode had the air of about 3 minutes of content that got stretched out to try to fill an entire episode, and was nearly entirely devoid of jokes, and the only jokes that did exist were more speeches about how great explosions are and non sequiturs demanding to be abused.
The headless horseman showed up at the halfway point, and what followed after that was an endurance test against eight minutes of dramatic evil music. I think that maybe we were supposed to laugh uncomfortably the couple times that the music stopped. Or maybe the dumb anticlimax at the end? Who knows? I kept waiting for something about the headless horse, but apparently that was expecting far too much.
Next Episode:
Breast implants.

The beginning made me think the show was devolving into a sketch comedy show, but then I actually got excited when they were describing the castle excursion, fighting through floors of the undead, with the stakes of Darkness’ life (who I honestly don’t really care about, and wouldn’t REALLY miss if she died) on the line if they fail.
But thank god that was nullified, before something interesting could happen. We dodged a bullet, guys. You got me good anime, you got me good.
