Enough with the goddamned shutters.

Impressions:

I think this is where K and I part ways and I just use Fridays to maybe get ahead on the weekly porn posts or catch up on translation work. It does leave the schedule a little light, but this episode was once again atrocious. I think what best sums it up is that one of the badass newcomers, spent literally half the episode cutting up shutters. At one point, the Smoking Guy attacked him, but that was just a stalling tactic to drop yet another goddamned shutter down. Elsewhere, the fight between Team Protagonist and Scytheboy was about 20 seconds long with the conclusion postponed to next week. Speaking of next week, guess what was in the preview? More goddamned shutters. And the guy who unleashed his power? Standing in front of an exploded shutter. Are we a show about magic gangs fighting, talking heads, or a shutter disposal service?

Also, not helping, that everything I've mentioned so far was from the second half. The first half (and almost all of the second) was once again the usual cavalcade of talking heads calmly discussing events with zero immediacy or sense of purpose. It is with no hyperbole to say that the first twelve minutes consisted of only two scenes; one where people sat around chatting while playing DS or doing their hair, and one where they gave a goddamned lecture. In a lecture hall. And took questions. The hell is supposed to be driving you people? Space Goat? I know you have no actual plot, but you could at least pretend like anything going on matters instead of having placid discussion after placid discussion. Kitty making faces and strange noises in the background is about as close as any of that ever comes to threatening to keep my interest.
