Perhaps we should pay a little more attention to them.

Impressions:

That was… weird. Different, sure, but as always, I have to note that different is not the same thing as good or effective, and I’ve yet to feel much of anything for the more ‘serious’ attempts that this show’s tossed out. This was really no different, largely because it was basically a series of random flashbacks, except that she was walking through them because, uh, shadows or whatever. It was also especially cheap as hell, with some shots just kind of squatting there like an ugly toad for long periods, which also contributed to it feeling padded as hell.

To be fair, the fact that there was simply no direction, purpose, or anything to her little metaphysical astral journey of… self-discovery? was doing a much better job of that than simply stretching out already ponderous scenes. As was the fact that we’ve already seen a buttload of these. We know just from the premise that something wonky’s probably going on with the word, probably the one in the episode’s title, but she just sort of meanders around from flashback to flashback, content to be a spectator, making it mostly an episode about watching someone else watch something, until she broke down and yelled to be saved, at which point, she was. And what’s not enthralling about that?
