 Ah, so this is why children are so bad at math.

Impressions:

Ruminations on the properties of vectors aside, about 13 minutes of endless yammering onward and 8 minutes of action. Although we did get to sit through a relatively long Misaka flashback in between her fighting Accelerator and Touma taking over. I did really like Mikoto’s scene on the bridge with Touma, so it wasn’t that bad, but it’s getting to the point where I’m tempted to mute the show the moment the idiot girl trio shows up. This is getting painful. None of them have anything to do with what’s going on anymore, and yet they’re still eating up around a quarter of the episode. Why?

I chuckled to myself when Touma slapped away Accelerator’s hand. Both of them looked so absolutely shocked and confused by it that I couldn’t help myself. I think it was because it was such a girly little slap. At least Accelerator has the excuse that nobody has ever struck him like that before because of his powers. I suspect that in Touma’s case, it was his testicle reascending after its premature drop when he started to notice girls and panties. Accelerator could have been a bit more interesting with his powers though. His main move tended to be stomping and letting the ground explode all around him. Certainly effective, but not terribly interesting to watch. Maybe they’ll do a little more when Mikoto joins the fight next episode. 

The primary broadcast for Index is taking a week off, but not the AT-X Thursday afternoon broadcast. That means that in American time, Index will be airing very late at night on Wednesdays, so it’ll be a Wednesday/Thursday show after the break with episode 14 first being broadcast on January 8th (Japan time).
