Daybreak Illusion #14 — Better Never Than Late

November 16th, 2013

I’m not feeling very witty this morning.

Impressions:

Yet another thing that I don’t understand its reason for existing. A prequel episode split fairly evenly between the bitchy girl killed off in the first episode that Akari then spent the rest of the show angsting over, and Luna learning to fight and being insecure/angsty over it. Certainly can’t accuse this of treading new ground, although I think their heads may have gotten larger. I can’t even imagine who would have wanted to see more of Fuyuna.

Granted, they probably could have used certain parts of this episode in the first one to make her out to be more sympathetic and give her a better reason to go magical deathplant, but months after the show ended is just a biiiiiiiiiiiiit too late for that. It probably would have been too late at any point in the show past the attempted murder for that matter. That just leaves Luna overcoming her angst. Again. But this time in the past! Not even a decent action scene to call eye candy there either, just leaving the question of who felt this needed to be made.

Holy crap. There’s more of this garbage?

  • ZakuAbumi says:

…Couldn’t they have focused on Meltina and Priscilla or the other two magical girls instead? Perhaps the other branches of their little organization even? Cerebrum’s superiors perhaps? That one evil politician who was always hanging around with Cerebrum? I mean, they had material to work with. Urgent things even. Why opt for this instead?
