Hayate the Combat Butler #152357 — Inner Idols

October 3rd, 2012

What exactly was the point of that? Besides hawking your CDs?

Impressions:

Oh, Manglobe. Are you a slave to your contracted singers or is your entire business model just built around selling singles of insert songs? In a way, it was kind of funny to have Hayate turning serious spliced with Random Idol singing, as if she was somehow part of/inside him. I don’t really know why she gets an in-show ad AND the entire ED either.

Sadly, that was about the most notable thing about the episode aside from the stupid ‘twist’ in the closing seconds with Stolen Character Design. I haven’t paid any real attention to this show in a billion years, but even I remember how the first episode went and this was mostly a rehash of it. The part that wasn’t at the start was a fat lot of nothing instead. Nagi is bored. Nagi watches TV. Nagi wants to go to America… which we’ve already seen a flashforward of her doing. Technical production was fairly run of the mill. Nothing stuck out on either the upper or lower end. Uhhh… Tanaka Rie’s English isn’t horrible? I’m out of things to say already.

You know what’s more important than storyline in Hayate:

    Name dropping products

You know what’s more important than name dropping in Hayate:

regularly adding another girl to the manga regardless of how useful she for name dropping and storyline.

this fricking franchise, whats the point or the story? fudge it, ill buy a idol cd and get some storyline from that or is that a drama cd?
