This was unpleasant on many levels.
I’m probably going to be a little late with Love/Choco on Thursday since I have errands I need to run in the morning. Also, FYI, No Sex is off this Thursday with a recap for the first AT-X broadcast, but continuing as normal on the primetime-in-Japan but super late Monday night/exceedingly early Tuesday morning broadcast. So… feh.
Impressions:
Rather poor episode. Probably because it was centered around Chinatsu who is only amusing when sexually assaulting others or devouring small objects and/or animals with her hair. For the first segment, I kept hoping there was going to be some joke beyond the obvious one about Chinatsu apparently being incompetent. Maybe that Kyouko’s little doujin was some kind of freakish self-incest affair and Yui/Red have long since given up on morality or were being blackmailed. Sadly, no. There was nothing but the obvious and Chinatsu dancing weirdly in the background to try to hide an entire segment based around a single horrible joke. Also, this seems like something that should’ve taken place proximal to the not-Comiket episode.
Bizarrely, the CM came a minute or two into the Christmas/karaoke part before it continued. I think the director may have been asleep at the wheel this week. The intentional bad singing was just annoying too, and I suspect just used as excuses to stretch things out anyway. For the last shorter bit, Chinatsu fumbled up her own attempts at a Christmas date with Yui. So… yeah… Two characters with approximately zero comedic chemistry together comprised of about 80% inner monologue. I have no idea why it was deemed special enough to get its own ED either. Lovely. Let’s just forget this episode existed and go back to Gachiyuri.
Preview:
This is not Gachiyuri.
