A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives #11 — Uhhhhhh… It’s Over!
September 16th, 2011
Uh, all right then!
Impressions:
Aaah, the writing today. Let’s look on the upside. I’m now in almost a perfect frame of mind to wring the most ‘enjoyment’ out of a certain other show’s final episode which will no doubt feature some amazing writing. Zexcs did admittedly do a fairly good job with the opening fight of Hazama vs the Anti-Victory pair, and I got that they were trying to contrast Gekkou just giving up against Taito’s endless speech about never giving up, but since nobody involved was actually evil, there wasn’t much… if any… tension to it, which makes Gekkou’s scene have all the more meaning since him capitulating was some actual slight development for him, which was very clearly not the show’s intention. After Gekkou’s surrender though, the show was basically pitched off a cliff and rushed to an ending despite having another episode to go.
Perhaps worst was Taito’s nearly five minute long speech about how he’d never ever ever give up in place of any actual fighting, but that was really just the longest of all the terrible parts. There was also Hinata popping up to proclaim how awesome he was along with a ton of random technobabble before leaving again, the cat popping out of nowhere to provide a rather unneeded spell to free the world-ending godwitch, the brothers getting a sudden flashback to their abusive father in the middle of Taito’s speech, the ending montage featuring them transferring into the school and flirting with Taito, and oh yes, all of Haruka’s memories being sealed so they can completely ignore all their melodrama and cliffhangers with her from the last couple episodes.
We’ll see what next week is then. Since there’s "white" in the title, I imagine a whoooole lot of panty shots.

So the power he spent all that time trying to attain was a super powered flashlight?
