Steins;Gate #03 — Mmmm Colliders

April 19th, 2011

Maybe I’ll just play the game for a couple hours and post the next eight ‘episodes’ worth of content at once.

Impressions:

I don’t know if I’m going to last another week of this. This is away from the nonsensical harem building and back to the nonsensical technobabble. They could say that the damn thing works because its manufacturer is the last descendant from Mu and he cursed it using Mu-tanium and I’d be fine with it. Yes, I’d make fun of it, but then we could move on and focus on the characters and what is happening with them now. I imagine that there’s someone somewhere out there touching themself to the mere mention of science, but in six sixteen episodes when the inevitable big bad government conspiracy finally actually does something, nobody is going to be caring about how the LHC fits into this unless the climax is inside the damn thing. Pithy comments about climaxing and the LHC are not required, thank you.

Instead, the most amusing part of the episode was Makise Christina and Okarin calling each other perverts for the better part of 10 minutes before trying out their little experiment to send messages back in time. Since it worked (sort of), Makise ran off and most of the rest of the episode was spent on LHC fanservice (mmmm, look at those Cs), Yukari Tamura’s character (whose name I can’t remember) conveniently knowing everything already and letting us know that she knows everything by reviewing all of it, and recycled non-footage of glowing lights and Titor BBS postings. Yes. Because watching glowing lights fly around for 30 seconds wasn’t enough the first time around. ANIMATION!

9 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • hidofYoshi says:

show needs more of the Trap

  • Jack says:

My guess, having never read the manga (or any manga for that matter) or even knowing if there is any (or if the manga is sent back from future microwaves), is that this show is like the movie “Memento” and right now, we’re watching the end. The bananas are a timer.

  • amyable says:

It might have not been your cup o’ tea, but my specific fetishes happen to be blushing gingers, LHC fanservice, and Yukari Tamura-voiced recaps. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

  • Forte says:

I thought this was more well done than the other two episodes. Less sporadic.

Also, you should chance “look at those Cs” to look at those “c”s. Get it!? c as in charge!?
(Unless that was your joke :>)

  • pata says:

can’t help but think that the fat guy looks like another fat guy in HSotD…

    also, we’re goin DEEP….

I’d collide my 5MeV proton payload in a stable high velocity oscillating magnetic field if you know what I mean :D
