Kusonoki Pokemon Manor #01 — Bad Penmenship
April 4th, 2026
I legitimately almost fell asleep.
I did flip through Agents of the Seasons's second episode, but other than having about 30 seconds of fighting some random thugs, it was the same as the first, just focused on the winter dude and his moody bodyguard instead. But they were both doing the same thing, lamenting all the drama that had already happened, no you can't see it, but it was really dramatic and those girls are so emotional for overcoming the things you can't see or know about.
Impressions:
And we have this mind-numbing exercise in tedium to end things off, combining all the worst parts of everything else. A protagonist as smart as a sack of rocks. Nothing happening. A truly staggering amount of exposition where half the conversation is repeating the last word… or sentence… said. And a setting that makes zero sense whatsoever. Couldn't even say that he only got his powers recently. We have to also have the obligatory grandpa teaching him about it as a kid to minimize how much sense any of it makes.
He has magical handwriting that instantly explodes and purifies literally everything around it. Seems like something he'd have cottoned onto pretty fast, but apparently not, because all of this is news to him despite having started years ago. How do we know that? The flashback where he first learns that he can see spirits, and then the second flashback where a random dude complimented him on his handwriting, and that was such a core memory that he now makes sure to handwrite everything all the time and the first thing he does is to put up his handwritten handwriting on the walls. And now, the tour of the local pokemon so we can have an introduction to them. What do they do? Nothing. They sit there and look cute. What kind of show did you think this is? Same as the onmyouji dude. He exists to adulate at the idiot for how great he is, what with his… magic handwriting. Incredible.
