Dramatic Teenagers: Nostalgic Version #01 — Extra Pink
April 2nd, 2026
I dunno, man. Your new friends all seem like superficial jerks.
AKA Haibara's New Game+. The ordeal of this Thursday is almost over, and eventually, we might see something well animated with some fighting magical girls or something.
Impressions:
Basically the same issues as the shoujo version from earlier, except without the silly faces, and with a creep 22 year old hitting on 15 year olds using future knowledge. There's even ridiculous bullying flashbacks despite him having already being the most popular kid in class and beloved by all. It's extra funny because he starts out with his life totally fine, goes back in time and says "oops, I was overweight and slovenly," and one quick montage later, and he's the envy of all, including his supposed previous bullies. And it's not even like he changed their minds with his transformation. It's explicitly a new school where nobody knew him except his childhood friend who already had a crush on him to start with.
We don't even see the effort. He never fails. He never even struggles. He just says that it happened long ago. See? A quick flashback of it. Now, back to basking in the adulation of these 15 year olds using his future knowledge of them and getting to his real goal, sleeping with his high school crush. It's hard to root for that. Hell, it's hard to empathize with that. Because he doesn't fail nor struggle. He wonders in his nonstop internal narration if maybe he might, but he doesn't. He is perfection and now his perfect life will be his. Centered on sleeping with this teenager. Probably not the headspace it was going for, but here we are.
