Impressions:

I can't say I was feeling this episode, and I think that comes down to the antagonists. After being built up for almost a month, all of them went down pretty unceremoniously. Two of them practically together. The only even momentary advantage any of them had was a pool of goo spontaneously lassoing Xylo's foot for a moment before he simply… pulled it off him. They were punching bags. Boojum included, who really seemed to be building up to backstabbing the big bad of the arc. And maybe he still will, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he was just dead for good here like all the others. So much buildup, for both them and the good guy sidekicks, only for it all to be hastily swept up in like a 90 second sequence. Also, why are we even personally attacking some random tower again? The tower that we're destroying? With artillery? Weren't we supposed to be defending the city? I've definitely lost the narrative here.

Boojum did have the best of the fights, both in length and in animation quality, but he was no longer the acrobatic stretchy dude and now just stood rock still while shooting vortexes, which also made things profoundly unsatisfying as this is what every single monster has been, complete with the random leg grabbing tentacles. At least Xylo was moving, but the weird flashback and declaration that he would… Do His Best… came out of nowhere when he wasn't in any particular danger, at least not more than any other time in the last ten minutes. It concluded quite poorly as well. Boojum simply stopped attacking once they got around to summoning their actual weapon in a very exasperating magical girl sequence that killed any tension before the episode abruptly stopped.
