The grip House of the Dead has on anime depictions of horror needs to be studied.

Yep, back to rotating through the girls one by one, which I guess is how the rest of the season is going to go. Can't say I loved another VTuber episode, though it's at least a bit more accurate to the whole VTuber scene than most anime depictions of it. Particularly the VTubers which are just Undertale characters. Can't say the same for the gaming side of it. You're entering a speedrun competition having never played the game before at all? Didn't you just say you practiced it? It feels like I'm being gaslit here.

Which extends to the overarching writing of the episode. In the previous VTuber episode, chasing spectacle didn't work because what viewers really wanted was authenticity, but now, chasing spectacle and fanservice works great for at least five minutes of fame. Sort of feel like they should've just done a whole Daten Route thing instead like it seemed like they were starting for. It ended at the more or less correct place where the journey and experience is more important than success, because 99.999% of streamers/authors/bloggers/athletes/etc are not going to be the top of the top, so you better goddamned be doing it for the love of the game, but getting there was still a mess.
