LINE sure has a stranglehold on anime texting.

Impressions:

Rough episode. The first part was just about texting. It is as exciting as it sounds. Texting. The second part was meant I guess to be focused on the teacher, but the problem is that his schtick is the same as two out of three of the other characters who have gotten any focus; overreacting with a yell while overexplaining convoluted internal narratives. From there, into the screamy girl from last week again. Finally, we end with the cliche schtick of locking children in gym storage rooms. Is there really such a plague of this in Japan that it must happen every time anybody walks into a storage room? Why are the locks on these rooms on the inside anyway? Is this not a fire hazard if nothing else?

I guess at least it's trying to introduce new characters each week… sort of. Does the teacher count? But so far, every new character has just been a variation on "overreacts loudly while giving a paragraph explaining their overreaction." Unlike the girl, the teacher was more sympathetic and less of a petulant brat, though it also didn't have a mean spirited ending bit of throwing him into the rain for no reason. Regardless, neither have been good additions to the show, and the one-note song it's humor is playing has already transitioned into the grating category.
