Alma Wants a Family #01 — Robot Upraising

Please shoot something.
Impressions:
I'm going to struggle to have much to say here because there wasn't much attempted, but also no great sins. I think it's the failure to commit to the bit. Wouldn't it at least have the potential to be funnier if she genuinely did inappropriately deploy heavy weaponry as was suggested for that one moment? I'm a fan of casual violence. Remember Guchuko and her casual use of beam cannons and scythes against cuckoo clocks and sliding glass doors? She doesn't even act like a robot at all except for looking things up on the internet. The internet that contains no porn and always perfect search results. Likewise, the relationship between her two creators. Rather than just being essentially awkward teenagers, wouldn't it have been funnier if they had hooked up at some point and were exes and bitter about it, or genuinely actually despised each other? Or Alma threatened them much more violently into it? Aren't there so many more comedic angles available instead of… tee hee, they're awkward.
So we pretty much end up with Spy x Family, but the powers are just rotated around a bit, and around a quarter the production effort, including the amount of stupid faces and overreaction yelling. Whether that's a positive or negative depends on your taste for shounen 'comedy.' The promos promised an entire slew of weaponized children duking it out, but from this episode, it really seems like the filler is the point, and not even the fun kind with laser cannons inappropriately inserted into regular life.
