Sword of the Demon Hunter #06 — Family Matters

God, I wish this was a decent studio.

Impressions:

Same problems as always. The story itself is fine, but its told so damn boringly. Jinya just wanders from one place to a next to have a seat and listen to the exposition, occasionally providing some himself. So what is there to say but summarizing? Those talking heads sure did… explain what was going on at exhaustive length. It's frustrating as hell too, because I want to like the fantasy knight errant kind of story with a mix of tragedy and bittersweetness, but the godawful production is making it so damn hard.

So I guess we summarize as we ponder if it's worth even continuing. Random tragedy girl got demonified, accidentally created a pocket dimension, the dude's brother wandered in and decided to take care of her, but time wibbly wobbliness, so came out of it an old man and is now the soba guy. There's plenty of points in the story we could've had at least slightly more dramatic elements or chances for Jinya to, you know, do just about anything, even if it was going to end all hugs, rainbows, and good feelings. But alas. That would probably have required some animating. Or effort.
