Mechanical Arms #11 — Clowning Around
December 12th, 2024
Dozens of people were okay with the creation of this episode.
Impressions:
I'm sorry. Did I have a stroke? This is the second to last episode. Why in the seven hells are we spending half the episode doing schtick with the third tier so they can combine their strength through friendship power in order to defeat some rubble? This would be bad even as a random filler episode in the middle of the show. None of these characters matter. Why are we essentially inventing new ones just for a couple one-off gags? In the second to last episode?
Then we remember that the main plot exists, or more accurately, the main character exists, because the antagonist continued to spend the entire episode floating around absorbing power, patiently waiting for our heroes to defeat some rocks. The protagonist needs to be friendship powered out of his jellified lungs while he stumbles around in fever dreams questioning if he really is the mainest of main characters. Which probably wouldn't have any weight even at the best of times, but since this is what he's done every time he's faced a challenge for every episode since the first, all we're really doing is padding out the same scene we've gotten eight times before an extra two to three minutes before he wakes up next week to one-shot the enemy of the week like always. Oops. Probably spoiled the big finale.
