Dandadan #12 — Back to Basics

Being loud and rapey.

Impressions:

Hoo boy. If you wanted to cement all the negative feelings I had about this show and bury any memories of its dalliances with over the top action and animation, this would certainly be the approach to take. A final episode (before a six month break) of zero action, zero stylized animation, 90% yelling to mainly show that the main character has not in fact developed whatsoever and will be announcing that fact loudly and repeatedly, and 10% overtures of gang rape. This is how we're ending things. With allusions to the other main character being sexually assaulted, again. The absolute more unpleasant, unnecessary, and imbecilic part of the first episode. Of all the things they could've ended on, this is what they chose. Fantastic. No notes. Bring on a new season of literally anything else, please.

    Yeah, for the 1st time i thought the screaming was over the top. Never bothered me before, but i was conversing with a rando at a bus stop over how gen z kids are socially awkward and cant communicate properly and this episode highlighted that. Okarun had to scream everything and do weird stuff to get his point over. Everything.

    Still love this anime and will await s2, but my god tone down the screaming by giving them an ipad or something to quieten them.

    Talking about s.a, go read Hell’s Tormentor Kraken. The same author as Chained Soldier. Every one of his manga the author keeps going down a slippery slope of debauchery. This one has reached the moral bottom. all im saying is you don’t stick tongues in there.

    Blazing Strike, aroduc have you played it and is it any good? also have they stolen every character of another fighting to fill this one? i see King, I see Rugal, I see Oro etc

    After so many people I know raved about Dandadan being the new It show of the season “kind of like chainsaw man” I checked it out and hated it. Just to make sure it was not a weak start I decided to also look at the 12th ep and everything I hated about first ep was there. Im getting off this ride.

    Don´t worry. Momo won´t be able to save herself from being raped again and another character will have to save her. You gotta love Jump writing women.
