How to write a great villain.

Impressions:

And here we have all the things that I hate in recent anime fantasy trends. Multiple characters openly declaring how much they love to sexually assault people but being bonked and we laugh it off, the slaver dude who does that and cackles madly about how much he loves to torture his slaves while the protagonist mostly shrugs and explains how that's normal and okay in this world, and a whole episode of just talking about the mechanics and how much of the appendix we should be reading right this instant. Plus, everybody continues to pretend to be super duper edgy. I'm so gonna kill ya, cause I'm such a bad guy/girl they keep announcing to nobody in particular, just so they can mawk and grin for the screen while snuggling their teddy bear and being a joke. 

I'm very close to just rambling about various games I've played for at least an hour over the last couple years. I could easily do four paragraphs and a bunch of fan-art for Unicorn Overlord or Deep Rock Galactic, or spew at least that much bile for Ys IX or any recent Atelier. The temptation is certainly rising.
