Go easy on the pastels.

Impressions:

If any protagonists this season could not suck, I'd appreciate it. A half-assed copy of Little Witch Academia, which was itself not exactly brimming with creativity, but when you take out all the animation and replace it with being just extra extra pastel, that doesn't feel like you're going to be capturing the same feeling. It is just as brainless; everybody simply wants to do magic because magic is so magical. Perhaps dumbest is that instead of wands, they have palm pilots. It can't be smart phones, that'd be too on the nose, but a little wallet calculator? Now we're getting creative.

But then at the magic exhibition fest where they show off their magic for magic's sake, some dog, later to revealed to be a person, digs up dark magic which… just kind of makes some noise and waits patiently for someone to take about thirty seconds to recite a spell that instantly makes it poof. JC Staff is really flexing all their animation muscles this season, aren't they? The heroic protagonists heroically stood there and stared the entire time. Maybe next week, when everybody's in their obligatory vine bondage, the protagonist will do something instead of moping and staring blankly.
