It's not supposed to be a battle royal between show and tell, guys.

Impressions:

Certainly a budget saving episode, and I guess we're starting with the wind elf dude's schtick, which is that he actually sucks compared to other elves, and has decided to be just like the people that he resents and made his life miserable. This is something that I despise seeing in writing, but it's something that anime and RPGs do all the goddamned time. People were jerks, and I'm sad and frustrated about it, so I decided to be just like them, but because I'm sad, and usually pretty, that makes it character development. No, it makes you a jerk too, and when they spontaneously decide to stop being a jerk, if they even do because characters in this show have yet to change or grow at all, it's insincere at best.

Anyway, still a pretty haphazard and half-assed episode even aside from just getting yet more racism dumped into the mix. There's a couple random dudes wandering around on a murder spree, but they have yet to actually be a part of anything involving the protagonist's team. They just timeskip to the last boss, only to find that the last boss has been beaten by the laster boss, so all of them can now start screaming about how they're actually doomed and not hypercompetent at all. Yeah, we saw one set of ants one-shot. You didn't do much of a job selling the competence of the team here. But now we're in Actual Dangerous Territory©, and going to hear all about how even the simplest monsters here are ultra dangerous… which is why they immediately kill one of them off-screen, and when ambushed by a pack of them, easily dispatch all of them, mostly through stills. Boy, am I feeling the tension that they keep screaming exists despite all evidence to the contrary.
