Pointing out cliches is not a joke.

Impressions:

Let's just roll into the last of the reincarnation shows so we can be done. And boy, are we going out in a painful fashion with another one of these "I want a cheat power to live an easy life WHY AM I SO OVERPOWERED!?" things. Where we list out every horrible played-out cliche in turn, and then do all of them. And my god, the backgrounds in this show have not gotten any easier on the eyes since the promos traumatized me. But even that's distracting from the premise of "Give me the power to have all powers, but as potions." What they're trying to sell as a twist is that the world has no concept of potions and barely of magic, making her extra super duper double dog special. Oh no! What a flub that is! Hell if I could tell you how that's any different from any other of this show's pathetic ilk.

I am so past ready for this fad to go away. It's not even trying to have comedy, adventure, animation, or anything. It's almost twenty minutes spent just listing out the subgenre cliches and how it is 150% unabashedly going to be doing all of them. It can't stop itself either. This world has cliche guilds. Oh, this guy is the stereotypical corrupt local noble. See how stereotypical he is? Boy that's sure a cliche that shows how cliche this setting is. I can't tell if it's a desperate attempt to be clever, or if it's flailing and trying to just rattle off things in hopes of fitting in with what it thinks are all the cool kids. Please stop making this crap, Japan. Please.
