Impressions:

It's a little surprising they didn't make more of visiting the other Tokyo wards, though I don't know that I have the cultural background to say much of anything even if they had. The stopover in Shibuya was barely anything, and random 7 foot tall American roaming around don't seem like its characteristic. Nor eccentric gadget otaku maniacs. I'm also not sure that I've seen the Sunplaza in Nakano compared to Everest. Maybe the whole scaling this was a reference to something? I couldn't tell you though, and it was just kind of generic mountain climbing bit for the most part, with the occasional death of the magical pet. Sure is a lot of that this season, not that I'm complaining.

Somehow, this was also a story episode, with the whole thing being a setup by Shobon. See? We can do episodic stories and advance the overall plot at the same time. It's not so hard. Granted, the midseason slump is certainly settling in here a bit, as the action is drooping and I'd much rather be seeing the murderous one interact with them instead of sitting in timeout week after week, but it's easy to think of the shows that are struggling to get even as far as that, so I'll take what little here there is.
