The Witch From Mercury #14 — Fourth Terrorist Attack This Week
April 16th, 2023
At this point, you're just being completely negligent.
Impressions:
At least there were a lot more explosions this week, but that was undermined by the awful costumes and most of the characters zwooping around in the first half being D-listers. They're yelling about having their revenge, but I could not for the life of me tell you who most of them even were, made worse whenall you can see is a helmet and eyes. I'm pretty sure at least one was one of Suletta's greatest enemies, the girl who paintballed her robot back around episode three, handing her her only defeat in the show thus far, and has since just been pissing around. The action did get much worse and more "random lasers in space" in the second half, leading to the psycho girl abruptly dying from magical gundam space magic. Which also hasn't gotten any less dumb the more times it happens.
I'm honestly not too interested in the 'reveal' that they're trying to create the Matrix to give immortality to old rich people, experimentally uploading one daughter at a time into WMDs. It's a Sunrise Bandai Namco mecha show. The robots are always powered by the angst of teenage orphans in one way or another. Mostly, I found it funny who they used as the person to be horrified by it. It's the same lady who helped surgically reconstruct an orphan, and upon him failing to hijack the killer robot they wanted, was a-okay with feeding him into an incinerator. Oh, so now you have morals and are opposed to child exploitation? I don't think you have a leg to stand on when it comes to finding creative sci-fi ways to torture children, lady.
