Magical Destroyers #02 — When Heffalumps Attack

Getting high with the girls.
I know there's like 8 other shows on Fridays, but it was a toss-up over which one to say annoyed me the least between Goddess Cafe, which had the second least shouting and the most fanservice, so most pleasant screencaps, and Birdie Wing, which had the least shouting by far, but also remains the most absolutely boring by leaning in even harder to the daddy issues and not even doing the golf super powers this week, so what is even the point of it at all? In the end, I think the correct choice is none.
Impressions:
This remains the clear winner for the day for so many reasons. It's hard to even describe the fight that starts out with them being swallowed, transitions into tiny elephants that are actually chasing tinier them, but the trunks are slime vipers, except now it's a rain of fetish hug pillows raining down on them, which gives way to a Tower of Babel of scalped girls with their brains exposed. This is all part of a psychodelic drug trip (was that in doubt?) that they all went on together in order to convince Pink that she needs to rejoin the fight. Oh, and Pink's transformation sequence is said mangled tower girls turning into goo which turns into her clothes. And then everybody else gets high to support her and reassure her that she will always be their idol.
Even just attempting to summarize it is a good time, and the visuals absolutely sold the lunatic drug trip which consumed half the episode. It wasn't the best magical girl fight around, in animation or choreography, but it was absolutely a director and animators wanting to make some crazy-ass nonsense, which I can absolutely respect and get behind, although its hard to really summarize or say much more than that. They got high as absolute balls, had some weird hallucinations, came out of it feeling better about themselves and able to move on from past trauma. Hell, even John Oliver did a bit on this like a month ago.
