Edo Elf #01 — Getting an Earful

April 7th, 2023

If she has an ear complex, why are all the banners in her house 75% ear?

Impressions:

And right back to the supposedly comical hysterical screaming. Good god, today's shows have been migraine-inducing. Who would have guessed that Birdie Wing would be the quietest show of 8, with the second quietest being pure fanservice. Girls make faces and yell frantically, either because one is being asked to do something, or because one has said that she doesn't want to do something. There is not a wide variety of jokes that we are relying on. One is a shut-in. The other has to take care of her. One makes angry faces. One makes panicked blob faces.

One is also an elf, which is used for approximately three jokes, so really making the absolute most of the premise. More time is spent explaining what elves are than her being an elf has to do with anything. And you'll never guess it, but the mysterious robed blonde lady from her past that she adores just so happens to be the robed blonde lady she knows today. Truly a revelation that nobody could have possibly seen coming. They also introduce two characters in the middle, baffling enough, who stick around just long enough to have it explained that they're a stylish classmate, or a culinary sister, and then vanish again, apparently forgetting to do any jokes or serve any point. Just plain masterfully put together here. No notes.
