Mega Moose #27 — Colony Drop

March 30th, 2023

Good thing we had a magical super baby on hand.

Impressions:

Yeah, yeah. A few weeks late, but I'll finish this today and tomorrow. I guess that whole butterfly thing was just a metaphor for crashing the whole spaceship into the other thingy. And then Yamato went and did the same himself, but he got a whole insert song and extended flashback montage… which lasted for about eight minutes before he got teleported off to the garden of Eden or wherever that other pair of uber aliens live. Wait, almost forgot to note that he also used his protagonist powers to telepathically free the tortured soul of the one dude, because that makes total sense. Oh, and did I mention that one of the ships transformed into a super giant mech and tried to catch another crashing ship, but lacked enough power until the magical space baby cried, which it turns out is exactly the thing that powers up ships? Or maybe cancels gravity. Who knows. The entire alien baby saga leading up to this point.

And then there's Arshem, who's apparently leading us into fighting the aforementioned Xel'naga by unlocking her inner Dr. Octopus, becoming possessed by the alien hivemind, and declaring war on them. Remember when these were werewolf aliens? Now she has scorpion appendages and as royalty, is subject to mind control and the whims of people living in vats. I admit that I haven't been paying the closest attention to this show, but I feel like I would've noticed at least the scorpion bits before now. That's… uh… a lot… to spew out for the second to last episode… although I do know this franchise is somehow escalating and is now coming to the west for its reboot 2.0.
