That's five. Last one is yet another cheat power thing. Oh boy.

Impressions:

Someday, five minutes into one of these shows, the lead character will unhinge his jaw, extend a second mouth and swallow the other pretty boy, and in a booming voice, tinged with the buzz of a thousand locusts, declare "NOW THAT I HAVE DEVOURED EARTH'S KNOWLEDGE OF THE SHIMMY SHAKE, THE DANCEMASTERS OF MARS WILL TREMBLE AT MY FINGERTIPS!" This, however, is not that day. This is just Another Goddamned Idol Show™, complete with godawful CGI dance sequence right at the start, because animating people moving is just plain too hard, and Miku Miku Dance is right there.

The best part of this episode by a mile was the super awkward cut where a commercial was meant to go. The show clearly was not edited at all for streaming, as it goes "Welcome to sMiLea. Like I said, welcome to sMiLea," with zero break or cut between the two lines, helped by the poor animation having both of them coming while staring at office fixtures. All the rest was a pretty bog standard boy band thing. Dude wants to be in one, because that's the hero thing to do, so his oversized friend (clearly not idol material) secretly records him doing karaoke and submits that as his demo track. Bada bing bada boom, spot on the idol squad with some other 'quirky' idols next week. I gather, mostly from the ED, that their friendship is probably meant to be ths show's hook, but there's not much more to it other than what I already mentioned.
