Tsundere Lieselotte #01 — Surf Data

Go easy on the pink, guys.

Whew. That's all six for today. And a mere six tomorrow too. May they hopefully be better. Oh, wait. Three reincarnations with cheat power, and an idol show. Well, may Nier not suck then.

Impressions:

I readily admit that I'm not hugely familiar with the games this cliche is based on, but until this whole reincarnation/pseudo-reincarnation as a villainess thing became a thing, I genuinely do not recall any of these boy-harem shows having this kind of mean girl antagonist, so these shows that have seemingly fabricated it so that they can 'subvert' it always seem a bit weird. Even the few times where there is a mean girl character at all, they're inevitably immediately won over by the main character's innate earnest earnestness, not eaten by a dragon.

That's more of a general complaint about this brand of show, but since this is a fairly generic and cliche version of it, I feel it's deserved. A lot of time is spent on explaining how it's a game, how she's going to be eaten, every character's personality, etc. When they do get to the ostensibly comical usurption and blushing scene, that's drowned out by one of the characters screaming at the top of her lungs through the entire thing before it's right back to explaining what's going on, including what "tsundere" means. Aaand as always, I don't stomach excessive exposition nor screaming all that well. So how far does seeing her blush get you? That enough to build a whole show around? I doubt it.
