Cooking in Narnia #01 — Not So Iron Chef

Is making a sandwich really cooking?

Disillusioned Adventurers's second episode was just twenty minutes of dungeon tutorial exposition with horrifically bad animation. Less gross than the first episode, sure, but in no way an improvement.

Impressions:

It's a little weird that this is the show with the second most status screens of the season, unless my memory is failing me. The best thing that I can say about it is at least Mappa is putting very, very little effort into the animation. Sure, some of the food is quite excessively overly detailed, but actual animation? Barely above the level of stills… except for the times when it does devolve to stills. So it not only is putting even less effort into its premise than its brother, Handyman Whoever, this season, but is seemingly competing with it for what have the worst animation.

I couldn't even tell you what kind of show this is meant to be. There's no real comedy to speak of, attempted nor achieved. The closest thing to a joke is the wolf god going bonkers for… soy sauce I think? I don't want to go back and check. Some random generic sauce at any rate. And I can only say that was an attempt at humor because they played some wacky sound effects in the background. What even was most of this episode supposed to be or accomplish? He can cook, and everybody loves his cooking, thanks to his cheat power of grocery store. Maybe if they were actually making a genuine cooking show out of it, with techniques and such, you could bill it as that, but they only go as far as overly detailed food, when ever since the infamous cabbage incident, every single show in existence does, forgetting that the godawfully animated cabbage is the only one of any of them that has survived the passage of time. You could've made a joke out of that at the very least, but nah. Too cerebral, apparently.

This isekai of the guy with “Can Buy in Amazon” powers has to be the most offensive trash in anime since the Isekai of the guy with a Smartphone, is there nothing else to green lit for anime, really?
